Digital Controls Operating Model
This module builds the systems-level thinking that precedes any tool-specific work — designing the digital controls operating model that connects schedule, cost, and enterprise systems into one coherent capability rather than a collection of disconnected spreadsheets and platforms. Participants map controls architecture: which system owns which data, and how information should flow between Primavera P6, cost systems, PMIS platforms, and reporting tools without manual re-entry or reconciliation. The module covers governance role definition — who owns schedule data, who owns cost data, and who is accountable when the two disagree — and WBS/CBS alignment as the structural backbone that makes cross-system integration possible. The module closes with reporting cadence design: sequencing data updates, quality checks, and report production into a monthly cycle that GCC PMO and steering committee structures can rely on.
P6 Schedule Data Management
This module focuses on preparing Primavera P6 data to feed downstream systems reliably — a distinct skill from the schedule engineering and diagnostics covered in dedicated advanced P6 training. Participants build export routines and field mapping that preserve activity codes, WBS structure, and baseline data during extraction, avoiding the common data-loss errors that corrupt downstream reporting. The module covers coding discipline specifically for integration purposes — ensuring activity codes remain consistent enough for cost systems and dashboards to consume without manual correction. Participants examine baseline management from a data-integration perspective, and close with quality check routines that validate exported schedule data before it enters a Power BI model or PMIS platform, catching broken exports before they silently distort a controls report.
Cost and EVM Integration
This module builds the integration logic that connects cost data to schedule data — a systems architecture skill distinct from the EVM calculation and interpretation covered in dedicated cost-control training. Participants map how budget, actual cost, and committed cost data flows from finance and procurement systems into a unified controls environment, and design the cost/schedule integration logic that aligns cost control accounts with schedule WBS elements so that earned value can be calculated consistently. The module addresses common integration failure points — mismatched coding structures, timing misalignment between cost and schedule updates, and double-counting risks — and closes with practical techniques for reconciling cost and schedule data sources before they feed a combined EVM view.
PMIS/EcoSys Concepts
Enterprise Project/Portfolio Management Information Systems (PMIS) such as EcoSys extend project controls beyond spreadsheet-based methods into governed, auditable enterprise workflows. This module introduces core PMIS concepts relevant to GCC project controls environments — control account structures that formalise cost and schedule ownership, and workflow design for budget approvals, forecast submissions, and change requests that route through defined approval chains rather than informal email exchanges. Participants examine change control integration: how a PMIS captures and tracks the cost and schedule impact of approved variations. The module closes with enterprise reporting concepts — how a PMIS aggregates project-level data into portfolio-level reporting, and where a PMIS platform's role ends and a dedicated visualisation tool like Power BI begins.
Power BI Controls Dashboard
This module focuses on the integration architecture of a multi-source controls dashboard — connecting P6, cost, and PMIS data into a single Power BI data model — rather than repeating the detailed visual-building techniques covered in dedicated Power BI training. Participants design a data model that brings schedule, cost, and risk data together on consistent keys, avoiding the fragmented, single-source dashboards common when teams build reports independently. The module covers measure design for cross-domain metrics — combining schedule performance and cost performance in a single view — and visual page structuring for schedule, cost, and risk. The module closes with executive summary page design: the single view that gives a steering committee an integrated read on project health across all three domains at once.
Forecasting and Trends
An integrated controls system earns its value by surfacing trends before they become crises. This module builds forecasting and trend analysis skills that draw on the combined schedule and cost data assembled in earlier modules. Participants track productivity trends across successive updates, identifying genuine performance drift rather than normal data noise, and build EAC forecasting that reflects both cost and schedule performance together rather than a cost-only projection. The module covers milestone slippage trend tracking — visualising how a project's completion date has moved across successive updates — and CPI/SPI trend analysis that reveals whether performance is stabilising, deteriorating, or recovering. The module closes with corrective-action tracking: linking identified trends to documented management response and following through until resolved.
Data Quality and Assurance
An integrated controls system built on unreliable data is worse than no integration at all — it produces confident-looking reports that are simply wrong. This module builds practical data quality assurance skills, starting with data ownership assignment: establishing clear accountability for who is responsible for the accuracy of each data element flowing through the integrated system. Participants design validation rules that catch common data errors — mismatched codes, missing updates, and out-of-range values — before they propagate into dashboards and reports. The module covers audit trail design that preserves a defensible record of data changes over time, and closes with reporting governance and issue resolution: the structured process for identifying, escalating, and resolving data quality problems before they undermine a controls system's credibility.
Capstone Integrated Report
The programme closes with an applied capstone: participants build a complete integrated schedule-cost-EVM dashboard and monthly controls report for a realistic sample project, drawing on every skill built across the previous seven modules. Working from P6 schedule exports, cost data, and PMIS-style control account structures, participants design a connected data model, build integrated schedule and cost visuals, calculate EVM metrics that reflect both domains consistently, and assemble a monthly controls report with forecasting and corrective-action tracking. Facilitator and peer feedback focuses on whether the finished report package reflects a genuinely integrated view of project health — not three separate reports for schedule, cost, and risk stitched together after the fact.
